II Section I recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in II Section I this week, Sunnyslope beat Fairfax 31-6. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Tolleson took down Copper Canyon 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kenneth Steele ran for 157 yards and caught 1 pass for 13 yards during the win.
Tony Miller was a beast in the backfield as Camelback lost to Browne.
Gabe Losada threw for 279 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 27-49 with 2 interceptions.
Losada put up the best numbers in passing as St. Mary's fell to Notre Dame Prep. Losada's favorite target this week was Jeremiah Sullivan, who caught 10 passes for 76 yards.
The Knights' Losada and John Moser have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Losada has thrown for 1,621 yards this season, while Moser, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 36 catches for 547 yards. The Stampede's Brandon Sellers leads the league in rushing yards with 775.
As it stands, the Wolverines are in second, while the Bruins are in third.
Browne and the Spartans played the closest game in the league this week, with Browne eventually emerging with a 16-14 victory. Kumasi Edmonds ran for 53 yards in the win.
