After both having extra time off, the West Warwick Wizards and the Westerly Bulldogs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
West Warwick is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Exeter-West Greenwich, who was ranked 23rd at the time (West Warwick was ranked 15th). The Wizards fell just short of the Scarlet Knights by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. While the Wizards didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Scarlet Knights 25-14 in the first set.
West Warwick started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 11-25, 25-23, 27-25, 15-10.

Despite the defeat, West Warwick got top-tier performance from Jaslynn Kue, who had 18 digs and six aces. With that strong performance, Kue is now averaging an impressive 10.3 digs per game. Grace Gallo also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Westerly had won 17 straight games and Ella Keegan did her part to make it 18 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Lincoln for which the team can thank Keegan, who had 17 digs. Gallo has been hot, having also posted six or more kills the last six times she's played.
The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 25-14.
Westerly's victory bumped their record up to 18-0. As for West Warwick, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's contest: West Warwick has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 10.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Westerly struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
