Jack Martin and Jessie Stevens provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Marvell Academy. The connection was good for 65 yards, the longest such play in MAIS 8-Man District 6 (8 Man) this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Delta Academy beat Hebron Christian 22-16. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Sharkey Issaquena Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Confederates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Martin has thrown for 638 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Austin Steed has 15 catches for 208 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Eagles and Humphreys Academy. Marvell Academy enters the contest ranked first in the state, while the Rebels ranks ninth.
Sharkey Issaquena Academy took down Greg Tibbitt's team 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Martin threw for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
