The La Quinta Blackhawks will head out on the road to face off against the Palm Springs Indians at 6:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: La Quinta has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Palm Springs will arrive with 12 straight wins.
La Quinta suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 83-50 loss at the hands of Palm Desert. La Quinta was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-23.
Meanwhile, Palm Springs didn't have too much trouble with Shadow Hills at home on Tuesday as they won 60-46. Given Palm Springs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Shadow Hills is ranked 751st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
La Quinta's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Palm Springs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-2 record this season.
La Quinta was taken down by Palm Springs 67-26 in their previous matchup on January 9th. Can La Quinta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
