It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Stearns ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Penobscot Valley Howlers 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Minutemen, who have now won four games in a row.

Owen Wilson and Emerson Michaud made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilson pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Michaud pitched 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. At bat, Wilson got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Michaud went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Michaud is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Stearns' victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Penobscot Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
