The Fisher Bunnies's game on Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 43-36 victory over Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fisher also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Fisher's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Melina Luyando, who scored 16 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Luyando has scored at least 25% of Fisher's points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Clemmons, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Fisher's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6. As for Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Fisher will take on Fieldcrest at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Decatur Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
