Buhl is 2-8 against Kimberly since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. Buhl's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Kimberly's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Buhl's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They didn't even let Wendell on the board, marking Buhl's second-straight 6-0 shutout. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Remington Higley made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Miguel Flores was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Chase Craner also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Kimberly ultimately got the result they hoped for last Thursday. They skirted past Preston 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
The team relied heavily on Ryder Stephenson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of MaCraye Bruning, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
Kimberly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Preston only posted a batting average of .200.
Kimberly picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Buhl, their record now sits at 4-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Buhl has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kimberly struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Buhl couldn't quite finish off Kimberly when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Buhl avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
