Two dominant guards in Marcus Hinh and Ty Yoder are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Riverdale Ridge Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
A well-balanced attack led Riverdale Ridge over Niwot in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Riverdale Ridge blew Niwot out of the water with a 72-45 final score. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Riverdale Ridge has posted against Niwot since January 30, 2021.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian entered their tilt with Valley with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Resurrection Christian simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Valley 80-15 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-12.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Resurrection Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Yoder, who scored 14 points along with five assists and four steals. Jacob Barker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.8 points per game. As for Resurrection Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Riverdale Ridge came up short against Resurrection Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 57-47. Can Riverdale Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
