The Wallkill Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Middletown Middie Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wallkill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Wallkill was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Our Lady of Lourdes on Monday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-2 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Emma Hunt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, Adrianna Gomez was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kasey Garzione was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
Wallkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Pine Bush, falling 23-1.
Middletown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Kurtz, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. That run marked the first that Kurtz has scored this season.
Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Wallkill, their win bumped their record up to 7-8-2.
Middletown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wallkill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325.
