Harvey Harris of Carver ran for the longest rushing play in 6A Region 3 this season against Auburn last week. Harris scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 194 on the day as his team beat the Tigers.
Jeremy Johnson and Harris provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Auburn. The connection went for 77 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Carver's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Johnson threw for 248 and two touchdowns and Draequon Murphy had 100 yards receiving. Harris helped Carver's passing attack out by catching three balls for 82 yards.
Rashaan Evans made the biggest impact on defense this week as Tim Carter's team fell to Billy Gresham's team. The defensive lineman recorded one fumble and grabbed 1.0 sack.
Carver's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolverines feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Johnson has thrown for 1600 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Landy Capetillo has 22 catches for 463 yards. Harris leads the league in rushing with 688 yards.
The marquee game in 6A Region 3 this week will be the clash between the Tigers and Central. Auburn comes into the matchup ranked seventh in the state, while the Red Devils ranks 19th.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when the Tigers and Central meet this week. Auburn features well-regarded senior Reuben Foster while Ron Nelson's team has Quan Weaver, a sought after freshman.
The Wolverines extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Tigers, 46-20. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
