Clallam Bay has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Wednesday. They will take on the Crescent Loggers at 5:45 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Clallam Bay was able to grind out a solid win over Non Varsity Opponent, taking the game 30-22.
Meanwhile, Crescent had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Non Varsity Opponent 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Crescent has posted yet this season.
Crescent got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ciara Cargo-Acosta out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Cargo-Acosta has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Audrey Gales was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight blocks and seven assists.
Clallam Bay now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Crescent, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Clallam Bay took a serious blow against Crescent when the teams last played last Friday, falling 49-19. Can Clallam Bay avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
