The Canute Trojans won the last time they faced the Cheyenne/Reydon Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Canute walked away with a 54-42 victory over Cheyenne/Reydon. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Canute.
Cheyenne/Reydon's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emma Bogges, who scored nine points along with two steals. Bogges has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Kimbo Denney was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Canute is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Cheyenne/Reydon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Canute will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Cobb-Broxton at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Fort Cobb-Broxton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Canute is ranked 54th). As for Cheyenne/Reydon, they will face off against Shattuck at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shattuck will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
