ALA - Gilbert North is a perfect 5-0 against Arizona College Prep since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Knights at 7:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
ALA - Gilbert North is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Gilbert: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Tigers out of the water with a 49-6 final score. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.
Weston Powell went supernova, rushing for 82 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended three passes in addition to snagging an interception. Another player making a difference was Ben Livingston, who rushed for 20 yards and one touchdown.
ALA - Gilbert North didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Gilbert to a completion percentage of just 37.2%. The team can thank Powell for the heroic effort on defense: he. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Coyotes are ranked 124th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arizona College Prep's win came from a few key players ALA - Gilbert North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Evan Heinrich, who threw for 168 yards and three TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes. What's more, he racked up 169.5 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Max Sasso helped Heinrich out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
