Gateway Legacy Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots by a score of  13-9. The  win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Juan Telles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Telles was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs while going 4-for-5.
 In other pitching news,  Raul Bracho looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits.
 Back at the plate,  Isidro Santos was  incredible,  scoring a  run while going 4-for-5.  Daniel Mendoza was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.
 Gateway Legacy Christian Academy  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Louis HomeSchool P only posted  an  OBP of  .343.
St. Louis HomeSchool P now  has a losing record of 1-2.
 Gateway Legacy Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  9-3  loss against DeSoto on the 20th. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, they will be playing at home against Lutheran North  at 9:00  a.m.  on Friday.
