The Covenant Eagles will face off against the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Covenant is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
The Covenant came out on top against Christchurch School on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Seahorses. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The Covenant got a big performance out of Evan Pariseau, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Kessick, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: The Covenant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Isle of Wight Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Christchurch School on Monday, taking the game 6-2.
Logan Springle made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Wyatt King was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Zac Perry was another key player, getting three hits from his three at bats.
Isle of Wight Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for The Covenant, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
