Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Poudre Impalas proved on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 58-41 win over Fairview. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Poudre.
Poudre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaqueline Forrest, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Maggie Foster was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Fairview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Remy Tolar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Tolar is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Chang, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Poudre pushed their record up to 9-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Fairview, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poudre and Boulder will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Boulder focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday. As for Fairview, they will head out on the road to take on Fossil Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fossil Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
