Holy Cross had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 32-22 victory over Cypress Christian on Friday. Holy Cross' victory was all the more impressive since Cypress Christian was averaging only 16.33 points allowed on the season.
Marco Gomez had a dynamite game for Holy Cross, picking up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 88 yards. Gibby Alvarado was another key contributor, throwing for 271 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Dallas Christian has more to be thankful for after their game against Trinity Christian on Saturday. Dallas Christian came out on top against Trinity Christian by a score of 24-14.
Dallas Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luke Carney, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown, and Jaden Davis, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Holy Cross to 10-2 and Cypress Christian to 8-4.
