Given Peebles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while Williamsburg is ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Union suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Monday. They were beaten by Fayetteville-Perry 62-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss West Union has suffered against Fayetteville-Perry since February 12, 2015.
Peebles pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for West Union, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
