Meanwhile, Andrew Jackson Academy came up short against the Saints on Friday and fell 41-31.
Despite the defeat, Andrew Jackson Academy saw an underclassman step up: McKinley Beard scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Beard hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games.
John Paul II pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Andrew Jackson Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: John Paul II have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 39.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Andrew Jackson Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
