The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Dora/Elida takes on Pine Hill in the first playoff game of the year. Dora/Elida has been tearing up the end zone with big points in its last three contests.
Dora/Elida can now show off four landslide victories after its most recent game. It had all the answers against Logan two weeks ago, winning 54 - 26. Senior Kaull Burton was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive three times. Burton's longest score was a 35-yard scramble in the fourth quarter. This also marked the 5th consecutive game in which Burton rushed for 100+ yards. Sophomore Wesley Poling banked an additional three TDs for the team.
As for Pine Hill, it entered its game after having won back-to-back but could not continue its run. It lost to Magdalena by a decisive 42 - 26 scoreline last week.
Pine Hill's defeat dropped it to 3-3 while Dora/Elida's win brought it to 5-3. We'll see if Dora/Elida can add another positive mark to its record or if Pine Hill can shake its loss and take the spring out of Dora/Elida's step.
