The St. David's Warriors will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cary Christian Knights at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. David's has four straight victories, Cary Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
St. David's has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-34 victory over Raleigh Charter. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-6.
It was another big night for Eliza Everett, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 steals. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Benson, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Cary Christian took a serious blow against Oak Forest back in November, falling 56-12. While losing is never fun, Cary Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 426th, while Oak Forest is ranked 103rd).
St. David's is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Cary Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for St. David's against Cary Christian in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 51-8 victory. Does St. David's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cary Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
