The Town East Christian Eagles can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Winston 59-24 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Town East Christian has managed all season.
Town East Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Cadena, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Cadena has scored at least 25% of Town East Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Windhorst, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Town East Christian's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Winston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Town East Christian will challenge Lifegate Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winston, they will head out on the road to face off against McCauley Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
