Salome is 9-1 against Bagdad since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Salome Frogs will head out on the road to challenge the Bagdad Sultans at 5:30 p.m. Salome is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Salome proved they can win big back in December of 2023 (they won by 31) but last Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Fort Thomas 31-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Salome has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Salome to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaniece Thomas, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Thomas is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Grecia Leon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Bagdad posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 42-6 victory over North Phoenix Preparatory Academy.
Salome is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Bagdad, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
Salome strolled past Bagdad in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 33-17. Will Salome repeat their success, or does Bagdad have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
