McNair is 0-7 against Columbia since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The McNair Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Columbia Eagles at 7:30 p.m. McNair has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21.
McNair suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Elite Scholars Academy, falling 83-48. McNair found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 21 to 8 on offense.
McNair's defeat came about despite a quality game from Kente Taylor, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Williams, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Columbia put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 76-47 victory over Towers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Columbia has posted since December 1, 2023.
McNair dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to 18-2.
McNair was dealt a bruising 79-50 loss at the hands of Columbia in their previous meeting on January 5th. Can McNair avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
