Marion extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 6-6. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastern Comets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Giants of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Gracie Dixon put in work no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs off eight hits. Dixon was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.
In other batting news, Jasmine Weaver and Adisyn Foustnight stepped up to the plate in a big way. Weaver went 2-for-5 with one home run and four RBI, while Foustnight went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
As for Eastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
Like Marion, Eastern also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Roberson. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Roberson was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Emillia Andrews was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Jenna Oman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Marion will venture away from home to take on Caston at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Giants' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Eastern, they are taking a road trip to challenge Clinton Prairie at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
