St. Mary's Prep dropped their record down to 17-11 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell  3-0 to the University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs. Having soared to a lofty ten  runs in the game before, the Eaglets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for University of Detroit Jesuit, their  win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11-1 and their overall record up to 4-14-1. The  victory was some much needed relief for they as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
For University of Detroit Jesuit's part,  the result came thanks to  Bobby Crane's shutout, as he gave up just a  hit and racked up seven Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Leo Sproule was  excellent,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases and one  run. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.  Brock Ballard also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Coming up, St. Mary's Prep will square off against Adams at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Highlanders will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something the Eaglets surely won't give up without a fight. As for University of Detroit Jesuit, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Cabrini  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
