The Laurel Highlands Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Derry.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Koffler, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Ringer, who scored 11 points.
Laurel Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Derry, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Laurel Highlands will be playing at home against Seneca Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Derry, they will face off against Yough at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
