Red Rock Central has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Red Rock Central has not done well against Westbrook-Walnut Grove recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Red Rock Central enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove. Red Rock Central's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Red Rock Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Lang led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Isaac Simonson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 15 rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Edgerton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Westbrook-Walnut Grove last Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 58-52 win. The victory was just what Edgerton needed coming off of a 88-67 defeat in their prior game.
Red Rock Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Edgerton, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Red Rock Central strolled past Edgerton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 52-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Red Rock Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
