The Dwyer Panthers will take on the Centennial Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dwyer's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Oxbridge Academy by a score of 4-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
The result came thanks to Shea Towns's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.
At the plate, Sierra Cook was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ava Pratt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Centennial made easy work of Central on Tuesday and carried off a 10-0 victory.
Makayla Megnauth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tynlee Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Hazelton, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Dwyer's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Dwyer beat Centennial 5-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
