Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is St. Benedict at Auburndale's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

St. Benedict at Auburndale never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Munford Cougars. Considering the Eagles have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Zoie Bernard was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two triples. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Khloe Spence was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

St. Benedict at Auburndale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Munford only posted a batting average of .067.

St. Benedict at Auburndale is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Munford, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-11-1.

Coming up, St. Benedict at Auburndale will venture away from home to square off against Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Munford, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Briarcrest Christian at 4:30 p.m. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.39 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
