It was a good run, but  Chesterton unfortunately witnessed the end of their  four-game winning streak on Friday. They were beaten by the Valparaiso Vikings 63-35. The Trojans lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head  back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the  55-49 score last time.
 Despite the loss, Chesterton still got an impressive performance from   Kenedi Bradley, who  posted 13 points in addition to six  assists and three  steals. Bradley has been hot, having  posted two or more  steals the last five times she's  played.
  Lillian Barnes was  her usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 32 points and 12  boards for Valparaiso. Barnes is becoming a predictor of Valparaiso's success: when she posts  at  least 30  points the team is 7-2 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was  Chyanne Brown, who  had eight points.
Chesterton's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Valparaiso, the  win was  the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
 Chesterton will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westville at 7:00  p.m.  on January 8, 2025. Chesterton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5  points per game  this season. As for Valparaiso, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game,  a  49-46  loss against Hammond Central on the 21st.
