Montevallo came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their defense stepped up to hand Tarrant a 2-0 shutout on Monday. That looming 2-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Montevallo yet this season.
Meanwhile, Chilton County put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Holy Family Catholic as Chilton County made off with a 8-0 victory. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Chilton County considering their one-goal performance the contest before.
Their offense was hitting Holy Family Catholic from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.
Montevallo's record now sits at 1-3. Chilton County's record is now 5-0.
Montevallo came up short against Chilton County in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, falling 3-1. Can Montevallo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
