Basketball Recap: Columbia Academy Gets the Win

Columbia Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 57-56 photo finish over the Silverdale Academy Seahawks.

It was another big night for Jeremy Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Brownlee, who posted eight points and three steals.

Columbia Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake McGhee, who put up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Briggs Hoewischer, who had 15 points.

Columbia Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Silverdale Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Columbia Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-46 win against Nolensville on the 21st. As for Silverdale Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 82-54 loss against Battle Ground Academy on the 21st.
