The Jacksonville Golden Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the White Plains Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Jacksonville sitting on nine straight wins and White Plains on five.
Jacksonville posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2023 on Saturday. Everything went their way against Cleburne County as Jacksonville made off with a 70-44 victory. Given Jacksonville's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Cleburne County is ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aaron Nixon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Imoree Young, who scored 15 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, White Plains gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 66-32 victory over Ohatchee.
Jacksonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. As for White Plains, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
Jacksonville beat White Plains 50-38 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jacksonville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
