The matchup was Carranco's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kimora Fagan, who scored 26 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Economedes had strong showings from Natalie Elizondo, who scored 11 points, and Abigail Vargas, who scored no points.
Edinburg's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.47 points. As for Economedes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Edinburg will challenge La Joya at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. La Joya will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1127th, while Edinburg is ranked 55th). As for Economedes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mission at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
