After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Winter Springs, the Circle Christian Centurions were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past Varsity Opponent 64-37 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Circle Christian has posted since December 18, 2023.
Circle Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucas Valdes, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Valdes has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Jones, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Circle Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they dropped their record down to 307-1184-2 with that loss, which was their 20th straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Circle Christian will square off against International Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (International Community is ranked 589th, while Circle Christian is ranked 595th). Varsity Opponent's road trip will continue as they head out to face BOLCA Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. BOLCA Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,461 points over their last 20 games.
