Jacob Howse and Ben McGraw provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Marvell Academy. The longest such play in MAIS A District 5 (8 Man) this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
Russell Christian Academy's Arik Washington rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Eagles last week. Washington ran for 95 yards on the play and finished with 141 on the day as his team defeated Marvell Academy.
Calhoun Academy's dynamic duo of Hunter Harmon and Danny Joe Norman proved tough for Briarfield Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Harmon threw for 127 yards and four touchdowns and Norman had 89 yards receiving. Cory Bagget helped Calhoun Academy's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
Walker Mosby made the biggest impact on defense this week as Russell Christian Academy topped the Eagles. The 5-foot-10 senior forced one fumble and racked up 2.0 sacks.
Russell Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Howse has thrown for 690 yards and 16 touchdowns this season, while McGraw has 10 catches for 366 yards. Washington leads the league in rushing with 765 yards.
The marquee game in MAIS A District 5 (8 Man) this week will be the clash between Delta Academy and Calvary Christian. The Raiders comes into the matchup ranked 13th in the state, while the Cougars ranks 17th.
Nate Ballard's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Marvell Academy, 55-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Warriors.
