Kaelyn Musser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Peebles saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendall Myers, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Manchester put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington. The Greyhounds blew past the Blue Jays 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won nine contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Rylie Young made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Young was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
In other batting news, Elliana Applegate was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since April 1st. Mahayla Brown was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Manchester has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Peebles, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
Both Peebles and Manchester just can't seem to miss. The Indians have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Peebles suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Manchester in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
