Given Pecatonica's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Durand is ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pecatonica's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Durand, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pecatonica will take on Aquin Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Aquin Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday. Durand won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pearl City at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Pearl City has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 6.
