The Neah Bay Red Devils came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crescent 83-23 at home. Neah Bay has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 35 points or more this season.
Neah Bay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Swan out in front who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makyah Chambers, who scored 12 points along with nine steals.
Despite the loss, Crescent still got an impressive performance from Lukas Love, who scored four points along with 15 rebounds and two steals. Love has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played.
Even though they lost, Crescent smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Neah Bay only pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Neah Bay's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Crescent, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Neah Bay won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Coupeville at 5:15 p.m. on January 20th. Coupeville has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Crescent, they will be playing at home against Clallam Bay at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Clallam Bay is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
