Even though the Salem Rocks have not done well against the Hartland Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Salem walked away with a 55-48 victory over Hartland. The win made it back-to-back wins for Salem.
Salem's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryan Peters, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Peters has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Veresh, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Salem's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Hartland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will take on Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton is coming into the game with five straight victories on the road, meaning Salem will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Hartland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hartland is facing Plymouth at the right time seeing as Plymouth is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
