The Dove Creek Bulldogs came tearing into Saturday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Dolores 61-19 on the road. Dove Creek has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 22 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Kylie Gatlin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Gatlin is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ralynn Hickman, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Dove Creek's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. As for Dolores, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dove Creek will take on Telluride at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Telluride comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Dolores, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ridgway at 4:30 p.m.
