The Fruitdale Pirates lost against the Washington County Bulldogs last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Fruitdale was beaten by Washington County 67-28. Fruitdale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.
Fruitdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anaya Smith, who scored 13 points. Smith scored a full 46.4% of Fruitdale's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Genna Ivy, who scored 10 points.
Fruitdale's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Washington County, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fruitdale is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Washington County, they will challenge Satsuma at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
