The St. Marys Bears put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Rock Creek 52-17 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory St. Marys has managed all season.
Leading St. Marys to victory were Hayden Heim and Isabel Hurla. Heim scored ten points along with nine rebounds and five assists, while Hurla scored 16 points. The game was Hurla's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenna Smith, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
St. Marys' victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.4 points. As for Rock Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Marys will challenge Silver Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 29th, while St. Marys is ranked second). As for Rock Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Wabaunsee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
