Baseball Recap: Southern Nash Comes Up Short

Southern Nash lost against Cleveland back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Southern Nash lost 24-8 to Cleveland. The Firebirds' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brennan Pridgen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Battle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Southern Nash now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Cleveland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Nash will square off against Nash Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nash Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Southern Nash surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cleveland, they will face off against Corinth Holders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games Corinth Holders has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
