The Prague Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Wewoka Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wewoka took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Prague, who comes in off a win.
Prague scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Meeker 65-37 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Prague has posted yet this season.
Wewoka has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 72-54 bruising from Dale last Friday. While losing is never fun, Wewoka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Dale is ranked second).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Timber Carter, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Awtumn Sipes-Louie, who scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals.
Prague is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Wewoka, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
Prague was dealt a bruising 55-25 loss at the hands of Wewoka when the teams last played back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sipes-Louie, who scored 14 points along with five steals. Now that Prague knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
