After a string of six wins, Arroyo Grande's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 59-46 to the Bishop Amat Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while the Lancers are ranked 131st).

Bishop Amat's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eli Chavez, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points and six assists. Chavez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rayshaun White, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Arroyo Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Bishop Amat, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
