Leading Champion to victory were Christian Williams and Marky Nolan. Williams scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Nolan scored 29 points along with six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Nolan has scored at least a third of Champion's points. Carson Fife was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Evan Bates, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Bates is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dearmani Franklin, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Champion's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Liberty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.
Champion will head out on the road to take on Newton Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton Falls will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.8 points per game.
