Lamar put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their contest against Cedarville by a conclusive 40-16 score. Lamar have a history of success against Cedarville, winning their last head-to-head 35-0.
The matchup started off well for Lamar, whose offense put up 18 first-half points. Cedarville put up 8, so the score was 18-8 at the half. Lamar's offense just added to that total in the second half en route to their big win. The win bumped their record up to 4-0. The defeat dropped Cedarville's record to 1-3.
Lamar will look to defend their home turf next week against Paris at 7:00 PM. Lamar are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Paris are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses. As for Cedarville, they will face off against Charleston. Cedarville have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Charleston are surely hoping to exploit.
