Baseball Recap: Grand Saline Has No Trouble Against Malakoff

After only one run in their last contest, Grand Saline made sure to put some runs up on the board against Malakoff on Friday. The Indians blew past the Tigers 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Grand Saline has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Malakoff, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grand Saline will head out to challenge Winona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.57 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Malakoff, they are taking a road trip to face off against Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.
